We Can Help

Meet Jay

Jay Irwin speaking to an audience

I failed English. Then I fell in love with it.

I’m Jay. I’ve spent more than 10,000 hours teaching students of all ages, in Brisbane and around the world, to read hard books, write with precision, and speak so that people listen.

My degree is in the classical liberal arts, with a focus on history, literature, philosophy and theology, and I’m currently completing a Master of Education. Outside the classroom I preach and teach at my church here in Brisbane, so I practise what I teach.

No two students are the same. I find where each one is strong, build from there, and stay honest about what needs work. That is how confidence is earned.
